R Kelly fail on literacy

R KELLY’S lawyer told a Chicago judge the singer didn’t respond to a lawsuit brought by one of his sexual abuse accusers because he is illiterate.

One of his attorneys explained in court that the singer was in jail when he was served with the lawsuit and that Kelly didn’t respond because he couldn’t read.

That was weeks before his February arrest on charges accusing him of sexually abusing a woman and three girls over a period of about 10 years starting in the late 1990s.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the sexual abuse charges.
