BEENLEIGH SALE WIN FOR SENIORS

- ALISTER THOMSON

BEENLEIGH could be set to be home to a new over-50s lifestyle village after the sale of a vacant 2.49ha site for $2.64 million.

The 31-45 Blackbird St property was sold by Graeme and Barbara Haggar to Hillzee Pty Ltd, linked to Carrara resident Matthew Hills.

The Haggars had held the property since 2002, when they bought it for $240,000.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Dave Kertesz and Richard McCouaig were the marketing agents.

Mr Kertesz said they fielded more than 100 inquiries and five written offers during the course of the campaign.

He said the buyer intended to develop the property into an over-50s lifestyle village.

The pair subsequently negotiated the sale of a neighbouring house at 53 Pheasant Ave for $300,000.

Mr Kertesz said this would be used to enable secondary access to the property and it sat to the rear of the landholding.
