BLUEPRINT TO TAKE DOWN THE KNIGHTS
UNBEATEN Griffith University Colleges have looked mighty in their Gold Coast District Rugby Union premiership defence to date but they are far from out of reach, according to Pirates co-captain Alex Holmes.
“I think any team on their day could beat Colleges,” he said. “It’s not like the days where Surfers were untouchable and you were pretty much just going out for a hiding.” Holmes said the key was limiting the impact of Colleges’ “big bodies” and high-profile flyhalf Richie Kingi.
“I think the team that can consistently rush up and pressure them for 80 minutes will be the team that knocks them off,” he said.
