Gore’s fine form rewarded

-

A STRONG NAB League campaign has been rewarded with a call-up to the under-18 Allies representative team for Suns academy player Josh Gore.

The 17-year-old small forward is one of eight Gold Coast academy players named in the side along with Hewago Paul Oea, Connor Buderick, Ashton Crossley, Alex Davies, Jack Johnston, Matt Conroy, Joshua Gore and Dirk Koenan.

Gore kicked 10 goals in Gold Coast’s five NAB League games.

He missed out on selection in the original 30-man Allies squad for the under-18 national championships but with 20 more added, the former Surfers Paradise and Southport player has secured his shot at impressing national recruiters.

The Allies representative team is made up from players from Queensland, Northern Territory, NSW and Tasmania.

“Josh has probably taken his game to another level over the last couple of weeks,” Suns academy coach Andrew Raines said.
