BILL, you can’t legislate poor into prosperity by legislating wealth out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another must work without receiving.

I work for one of the biggest companies in Australia with over 3500 retail outlets and $5 billion in turnover. Last week all staff were sent an email from our Melbourne HQ to avoid using Australia Post as the company has now become too unreliable. Aus Post management and board should all be sacked. James, Southport

In 2001 former LNP PM Howard and Treasurer Costello, introduced a free gifted concession, giving mainly selffunded retirees with no tax that year. This disgraceful, unfair, tax loophole system, costing the Federal Govt currently 6 billion yearly, must be abolished. Apparently Australia is the only country in the world with refundable franking credits; while our Aged Care, NDIS, Hospitals, Schools are crying out for extra funding … Observer

The spoiled selfish GC especially the Mayor whingeing for hundreds of millions of dollars for a tram that is completely not needed. While not very far inland there are towns that have run out of water. The Govt is now claiming that they have filtered blue green algae affected water which is impossible to boil out of the water and then forcing locals to consume and utilise instead of trucking in or putting in a reliable water supply. The excuse, we have no money because we are paying for the unnecessary tram. I choo choo choose clean water for Australians.

If you’re looking for unimpeded views of the ocean, green – not housetops, that FAR exceed any in Sydney’s eastern suburbs at a fraction of the price, Tweed, Banora & Terranora are your go-to starts.

What compassionate human being could not feel sorry for the Harlow family and others effected by the disease spreading bat roost at Coombabah, but unable to get any help from the Palaszczuk Labor Gov and their greenie bed mates. Ask the environment minister and somegreenies to camp the night under the tree among the filthy bat droppings and stench and see how they like it. Another reason not to vote for Labor or the Greens. KenW

Big O. Before you decide the NZ PM is what we need, I suggest you go and live over there as a lot of Kiwis are not happy with her. She also has a bit of a radical deputy who is probably pushing a lot of the buttons. Remember the saying “the

grass is always greener on the other side”. Mary. Elanora

With the success of the Magic Round in the NRL this weekend, why doesn’t the AFL do the same but with a difference by playing one of the mid season bye rounds in SEQ. 4 games in Brisbane (1 Friday night and 3 on Saturday) The other 2 at Carrara on Sunday). If successful do it in Sydney as well the following year or once the SCG is back in full swing for AFL footy as well as Giants stadium and ANZ if necessary. The dominator

To all the union bashers out there, I’m sure you won’t mind handing back some of your wages in lieu of the benefits you enjoy gained for by fighting union men over the last 100 years- hypocrites

Danny, the greens are not running the Labor Party. Do you complain about the nationals influencing the liberals? Vote Labor, it’s the only way and don’t be conned by the hype. G C Socialist

Voting is simple, it’s like walking to a bakery and either getting a pie, pastie or sausage roll. You pick what you like. You will do same thing every time regardless of the new vegan, international or free-range version of the savoury.

The CMFEU use safety as an excuse to enter worksites. Such entry would otherwise be illegal. Workplace safety worked quite well before it got involved with CMFEU thugs. rocket

Danny Baker should have thought before he posted that royal tweet but when you think about it there was a bit of humour in it. Unfortunately we have lost all that and I think we are worse off without it. Barney

For all the disabled shoppers and mothers with prams. Why don’t you try shopping at Pimpama City shopping centre? Heaps of parking for all. Even the “normal” park spots are much wider. With shade cloths as well. Best centre on the coast. Thanks, Norm

Surely a foreign-owned betting company, putting ridiculous odds on one party for a federal election, is interfering in our democratic process?

Interested to read a Victorian family are suing the state over the murder of a woman viciously tortured and raped. The scum was on parole and allegedly not supervised. Bring it on, hope they win big time. Bourkey

Politicians break more promises than Clive Palmer breaks belts. We need a new wave of leader. Young people rise up! Fred
