MacLeod stars for TSS
THE Southport School coach Joe Dolan has hailed the efforts of marathon man Ewan MacLeod as the GPS First XI leaders continued their charge towards a drought-breaking title on Saturday.
Entering their Round 3 fixture on the back of wins over 2018 powerhouses Nudgee College and Churchie, TSS made it three on the trot for the first time since 2016 with a 2-1 triumph away to Brisbane State High.
A Lochie Johnston tap in off an early corner helped the visitors to a 1-0 halftime lead, before he struck again with an long-range lob after the break to double his side’s advantage.
While State High pulled one back midway through the second half, TSS hung on to remain on track for their first premiership since sharing the 2014 crown with Nudgee.
TSS’ next game is at home to Toowoomba Grammar School, who are coming off a 3-1 defeat of Ipswich Grammar School.
