GUESTS to Dreamworld were able to get up close to the park’s two tiger cubs for the first time yesterday.

The brothers were born to three-year-old mum Adira and father Pi just two weeks ago and only last week opened their eyes.

They weigh 3.58kg and 3.14kg, having doubled in weight since birth.

Dreamworld’s general manager life sciences Al Mucci said guests to the theme park could now watch the pair grow up through the nursery’s viewing windows.

“They have just started opening their eyes and exploring their surroundings, so will become more alert in coming months,” he said.

“Once the cubs have been vaccinated, they will also be able to step out on to Tiger Island and interact with the other members of their tiger family.”

The tiger cubs will have to remain in quarantine until they have been immunised against feline diseases.
