SOMETIMES a big event just “clicks” when all the many elements needed to make it work fall neatly into place and the joint is jumping. The Gold Coast Mayoress Ball at The Star was one of those nights. Formalities were kept to a minimum, the auctions added a buzz to the night with serial re-gifter Dr Soheil Abedian successfully having the winning bid for the Audi Q2 and then placing it up for sale again. Special words of praise for the band Furnace and the Fundamentals whose frenetic act had everyone one up and dancing.
