Big business the backbone of our country, not the enemy

-

WE frequently hear a running war of words against the “Big End of Town” and how they are the enemy – presumably this refers to big business.

Without big business, most trade union members would be unemployed and on the dole. Without big business, most of the Australian workforce would also be out of a job. I say that without big business there would be no dole money for anyone.

You do not have to actually work for one of the big companies to be affected. It is the flow-on effect of what these companies do which creates employment in shops, factories, cafes etc. Small businesses would not survive without this flow-on effect and benefits created by big business.

Big business creates a chain reaction for employment throughout our country and the world.

If big business is crushed and defeated, Australia grinds to a screaming halt. Every business should be supported at all cost, encouraged by government to create greater production and employ more people, not strangle them with increased taxes and relentless demands for higher wages.
