FISHING

- Report by Doug Burts Tackle World.

OFFSHORE: Snapper is fishing well off the 50 and 36 fathoms, easterly of Tweed. Cobia has started to show out at the 18, 24 and 36 fathoms.

BEACHES: Try the deep gutters which flow through the back surf break at night for tailor.

SEAWAY: Heaps of small queenfish, tailor and trevally being caught in the north and south channels leading into the Seaway. The northern wall has been good for large sweetlip emperor and mangrove jack. Squid has started to show in numbers and catching well along the Seaway walls.

RIVERS: Whiting around the Council Chambers and the Nerang River. Mud crab in the Coombabah Creek.
