Roos jump to second

-

ROBINA’S Colts showed their resilience and seized second spot on the QFA Colts White ladder with a two-point victory over Victoria Point for Round 5 on Saturday.

After a 32-point lesson from Burleigh last week, the teenagers responded in the first game of the day on their home turf, winning 8.11 (59) to 8.9 (57).

Captain Ethan Holahan continued his stellar form with a best-on-ground performance, backed up by a “Zach attack” in Coote, Hayes and Williams.

In Round 7 of QFA Division 2, Robina’s seniors side was left frustrated yet again, folding to Victoria Point by seven points.

The team’s four losses this season have been by fewer than nine points. Tall workhorse Joel Stevenson roamed Scottsdale Reserve and slotted three majors, and playing coach Mark Vigus was potent in the 50, bagging six, but the visitors prevailed 17.13 (115) to 19.8 (122).

The Roos Twos were bitten by the Sharks, 3.11 (29) to 12.16 (88). The club’s QFAW Division 1 side was no match for a slick Broadbeach, falling 1.3 (9) to 7.3 (45) in their Round 5 encounter in the last of the four matches at the Roo Pen.
