Food for thought to chew with a democracy sausage

-

WITH the election day so near, many of us must make a decision one way or another.

I raise a few important points for people to consider before they place their numbers in the boxes.

Forever and a day we have heard the environmentalists screaming their favourite environmental beliefs at us all. However, for us to enjoy what they claim and for our children to enjoy the same we need to be able to afford to live or the only enjoyment we and our children will have is what is in our own back yards, if we can afford a back yard.

So our ability to enjoy life by our hard work and the costs we must pay for our electricity, our fuel (forget electric cars they will simply put electricity costs up), the cost of our food and a home (if we can afford it), bought or rented.

For me that rules out the Greens and the ALP with the Green left-wing radicals proving they are just as dangerous as the right-wing extremists after their recent attacks on farmers, their harassing anyone who does not agree with them and the announcement by their leader that he wants to ban all media comment, certainly yet another threat to our freedom of speech.

That also rules out the ALP, especially on their wish to create new taxes. I don’t know about anyone else, but I hate taxes, and here in Queensland as we have seen, once our ALP State Government has control over any tax they immediately plan to have it go up every year by putting an ongoing rise that covers five years in the Budget. So when they want to tax us when we are dead and take that money from our children or favourite charities, when its starts it will also go up and up.

It also does not help that they are supported by another radical group, Get Up, which is run by a radical Green and ex-union heavy weights.

The LNP, well they are promising us more of the same, with a little help, not much but enough to help the kids get a house (sorry Bill you don’t get a prize for matching announcements without proving you can fund it), and help to make our transport and roads better.

As to the rest well Bob Katter is not controversial, old Clive may have his drawbacks but he is a good businessman, the conservatives are quiet and seem to be willing to work hard, One Nation, well in comparison to the Greens, the lefties from the Greens seem more worrying extremists to me than the right wingers.

In all, I believe it is food for thought, especially to those who are still uncertain on what they want. Best of luck to those of you making the decision on Saturday.

I am one of those who the ALP dislikes, I have already voted. RON NIGHTINGALE, BIGGERA WATERS
