GOLD Coast Dolphins stars Michael Neser, Xavier Bartlett, Max Bryant and Matt Kuhnemann were yesterday retained in the Queensland Bulls’ 2019-20 contract list.

Bryant, a top-order batsman, and left-arm spinner Kuhnemann received full contracts for the first time after starting last season on rookie deals.

The big surprise was the inclusion of fast bowler and Gold Coast junior Alister McDermott, who has returned to the squad following a three-year absence.

The son of Test legend and former Dolphin Craig McDermott, the 27-year-old made his debut for Queensland as a 17year-old and took 27 first grade wickets for Wynnum Manly last season, as well as 18 for the Queensland second XI.

Former Dolphin Billy Stanlake was also contracted.
