REMEMBER WHEN

SCOTT Prince, with the eyes of every rugby league fan in Australia glued to him, produced one of his best performances of the year to steer the Gold Coast to their first win over the Bulldogs in history.

The Titans skipper almost certainly would have sent shudders through the Maroons camp who saw exactly what they would be missing at the next Origin game.

For the record, the Titans held on for a heart-stopping 24-20 win after leading 16-0 early in the first half.

It was the first win by a Gold Coast team over the Bulldogs in 20 years.

But it was Prince’s night. Prince showed the 22,676 fans at Skilled Stadium, holding ’Prince for Origin’ signs, his full bag of tricks. This included his trademark bullet passes through to sideline conversions, an individual try and even a bit of push and shove.

Each time he touched the ball it looked like something was going to happen. It took just 10 minutes for the Prince show to begin - and begin it did.

Within the space of three minutes the Titans skipper had orchestrated two tries with three majestic passes.

The first came from nowhere. The Titans were in the middle of the field when Prince made a run and threw a bullet pass to send Brett Delaney through a hole 40 metres out. But he was tackled.

Just two plays later, Prince threw another lightning pass to put winger Smith Samau over in the corner.

He starred again, three minutes later, when he passed to Brad Meyers who ran a clever angle to score near the posts.
