So Scott Sattler says it’s beyond belief why Scott Prince prefers to travel to Brisbane each day instead of Robina. Some people have short memories and others have very long memories. Barney

KT, I am on the do not call register but still get calls. I have noticed when I hang up and press redial all the numbers dial back to the same mobile number that does not answer

Jim, today the ABC is leftwing indicates you’re not listening. It’s called balanced reporting. Otherwise they’d be like all the other trashy channels. Sky is a spin channel, just ignore it.

Are you looking forward to some peace and quiet after the political adverts stop? Well, the vacuum will instantly be filled by the next onslaught of betting adverts, starting with some bloke squealing about Sportsbet – whatever that is. Try the ABC to get away from the pest.

I hear it all the time, ‘I haven’t got time, I am so darn busy’. Yeah right, take out the 4-5 hrs a day you spend on social media checking, updating your status, plus your 8-12 daily selfies. Oooooh I don’t have time! Observer

Hey Jim, Sky News has Labor's Richo, Steven Conroy, Speers all left leaners giving an opinion … the ABC has no one leaning right giving an opposing view. Vern S

Ron Nightingale in letters decries the vandalism of election signage. Perhaps it just confirms that most people are sick and tired of politics and politicians. You have to ask yourself why one particular politician sees the need to have a sign at 100 metre intervals throughout the northern Gold Coast and why he has signage at Harbour Town promising to fix a road intersection. What has he done about it in the last 3 years?

GC Traffic & M1 is not the problem. It’s people choosing to live miles away from their work. -Marco Polo

It’s a sad day for Australia where, regardless of your vote, preferences will decide who runs Australia! Hansen and Palmer you’ve got to be joking! Jerome Breen

Exactly Joan (Best Text 16/5). I don’t vote preferences. Fold it up and bin it. That’s the only way these lunatics can get into parliament. I only vote the main ballot sheet. LS

Re the comment about the cost of the PSA test vs the zero cost for a basic Pap Smear. You’ve missed the point! Prostate Cancer IS the

biggest killer for men therefore the earliest diagnostic test (PSA) should be bulk billed and available to those who cannot afford the $50. Not only to avoid expensive and harmful treatment but also possible death. A pap smear for women IS bulk billed. You ‘chose’ to pay 50 for a ‘better test’. Many don’t have the luxury of even paying for a basic test. Think about others, not just your

situation. You’re lucky and this situation is discrimination.

How self-centred is Malcolm Turnbull son propping up independent mishaps. OX

Jazz band at airport, what a wonderful idea. Great way to promote our beautiful city. Why can’t we have something like this all year round. Would be worth looking at. How exciting it would be for tourists. - Mouldy Goldie

Would check with QML before paying for PSA test, unless this is new it was a bulk billed item. You may find that your Dr forgot to tick the box for bulk billing.

$1.64 a litre of E10 is criminal when oil barrel price is low. If only a politician pitched to keep prices down but that would actually be helping the public. Wog

One more sleep and we won’t have to cop it anymore. mw

Forget the Super Slippery Slide in the Southport Broadwater Parklands. Waste of money. Fix the Roads! Ratepayer

I’m shocked kids in the watchhouse as young as a 12-yearold girl. GET THEM OUT OF THERE NOW. Raise the age of criminal responsibility to learners permit age you idiots – kids are not adults.

Israel Folau, about to discover what is left when you take the fund out of fundamental - the Capt

For health reasons, the greenies who dangled themselves from the Harbour bridge should have been kept hydrated. A jet of water from a fire hose would’ve done the trick. Concerned Citizen

Light rail (GCB, 15/5) is completely incompatible with modern lifestyles. Most of us need a car. Trams suit only a very narrow slice of the population. There’s not enough of them to warrant the loss of traffic lanes. Let them uses buses. Shano
