Brosque kept quiet on exit

WHEN Alex Brosque sat down with Steve Corica on April 3 to confirm he would be retiring at the end of the season, the Sydney FC coach asked Brosque to keep the call to himself.

“I understand why Stevie wanted to wait a couple of weeks before I told the boys – maybe to give them a bit of extra drive and determination for the last few weeks,” Brosque said ahead of Sunday’s A-League grand final against Perth. “But now ... it’s important each of the boys goes out there to win it for themselves and their families.”
