Comedy icon dies

COMEDIAN Sammy Shore, pictured, who opened the shows of a string of superstars including Elvis, Tom Jones and Barbra Streisand, died yesterday. He was 92.

Shore’s career stretched for almost seven decades. As well as stand-up comedy, he appeared in a number of films including The Bellboy with Jerry Lewis and Mel Brooks’ History of the World Part 1.
