Good job Aussies! Clearly I am not the only one to recognise who’s done the better job of running the show for the good of us all!

LNP back in ...Yahoo! I am rushing out to buy 2-3 more investment homes and also buy more shares, so I increase my franking credits tax refund...Big End of Town Player

I heard former PM Tony Abbott has his budgie smugglers on eBay, every dollar helps in retirement!

Bravo! To all Australian voters. Nine years absence of a spendthrift government should put the nation’s economy right on track. Hallelujah - Sinbad

Bob Hawke was a very likeable PM, but he became famous for many good reasons, as a previous trade union official he deregistered the rogue Builders Labourers Federation union, and this needs to be done to the rogue CFMEU who have abandoned 1500 Adani miners. Thank God for ScoMo. KenW.

Why don’t council reduce size of footpaths to the width of a decent “walking/riding” concrete path making the roads wider? With so many units/duplexes etc there are too many cars clogging the roads – some of which are very narrow to start with. Bev

How deeply ironic; Bill Shorten’s political career began with him big-noting himself at the Beaconsfield mine collapse and ended with miners kicking the crap out of him. Shano

I don’t think Sco Mo won because he will be a better PM...I think it was more a case of ‘Better the devil you know’ Sue, Broadbeach

I only hope that after Clive Palmer was rejected so thoroughly by the electorate, he won’t be able to use the millions he spent on advertising as a tax write off somewhere else. Joan, Ashmore

Thanks Adani protesters for galvanising Australia especially the great state of Queensland in rejecting your job destroying alarmist idiocy. Come back again in three years. Don

Clive Palmer spent millions, I spent “a second” making sure he got “zero”. Old Crock

So much for the polls predicting a Shorten victory. This Morrison victory is a huge win for both the LNP and its supporters. Awesome. Doug

Goodbye to Fraser Anning, egged at the ballot box by the egglectorate, I’m eggstatic. hahaha!

Israel Folau was found guilty of breaching of Rugby Australia’s code of conduct. NOT because of his expression of his religious beliefs. Everything has consequences. Rosi Shenko

After arriving to vote it hit me what a tough decision it would be and I actually had to take a moment to really think hard. Should I get the sausage & bread or the hamburger after voting? Marco Polo you really do have a serious problem making statements about GC traffic & M1 not the problem do you really think that people choose jobs that are not close to their homes on purpose? I’m sure if people had a choice I know what they would choose. Zorba

I visit the Southport Spit every weekend and I am sick of walking in horse manure. Can horse lovers please take their mess with them? F

Liberals rout Queensland ! Maybe now the greens and Labour will bow to the will of the people and let Adani go ahead. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the Greens to do the ‘right’ thing. Bigdog Carrara

Just wondering why the Dept of Transport and Qld Govt is charging individuals 25 to attend a community consultation regarding the light rail? Shouldn’t all community consultations/info meetings be absolutely free of charge? This stinks. Response from the relevant minster and Tom Tate please!! JWVale

So over this GetUp! rot. They’re dangerous meddlers. We need to name and shame them. Expose their ‘borderline illegal’ activities and ban them from any political interference ever again. Dave

Never a truer text has been published than Shano’s

about light rail which the hypocritical politicians want to force on to 90% of the population while they drive BMWs and Mercs and in some cases are chauffeured around, just to please the big donor developers who want to fill the coastline with skyscrapers from Southport to Coolangatta for seasonal tourists who don’t pay local rates and taxes. I say let’s look after locals first and leave the 4 lane (2 each way) GCH alone until all road infrastructure especially the M1 is finished and sustainable for the next 30 years. The dominator

The manipulation of young children and the guilt trip on parents around the environment during this campaign is pathetic. A major volcanic eruption would cause more issues than human pollution, but we couldn’t get any polital mileage out of that

Does Spiderman have a web address?

The huge support for the Lib/ Nats in Queensland clearly sends a message to Palaszczuk that her Labor Government is very much ‘on the nose’.
