LABRADOR are still in the box seat to contest the Brisbane Hockey League’s mid-season trophy game despite losing the top-of-thetable clash on Saturday.

Defending champion Easts extended their winning streak to 24 games with a 7-3 win over the Tigerstix at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre.

Labrador matched Easts until halftime before the visiting team got on a roll after capitalising on Tigerstix defensive lapses.

Second-placed Labrador plays Commercial (fourth) and Redcliffe (ninth) in the next two weeks, before the Memorial Cup final on June 8.

In the Gold Coast division one league, Kingscliff smashed Casuarina 10-0, Burleigh downed Labrador 8-1 and the Roosters took care of Capri 5-1.
