Wallaby booted by DUI charge

- – JULIAN LINDEN

TOLU Latu has been booted out of the Wallabies’ World Cup training camp in Brisbane after being charged with drinkdriving.

Already warned about his behaviour after a string of onfield brain snaps, Latu had been selected for the three-day camp but was instead ordered to fly home after the Rugby Australia integrity unit opened an inquiry into the latest matter.

It is understood the decision to exclude the hooker was made by head coach Michael Cheika, who takes a firm stance on discipline.

It was reported that Latu was found slumped behind the wheel in Sydney in the early hours of last Thursday and recorded an alcohol reading of 0.135. Police said he was driving on a suspended licence.
