Bankrupt developer pleads guilty in court

GOLD Coast developer Bruce Tilley has pleaded guilty to taking out thousands of dollars from a bank while keeping his bankrupt status a secret.

He allegedly took out “$3000 or more” from a Bundall bank in the wake of becoming bankrupt in 2013, a court was told.

The businessesman pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to failing to disclose bankruptcy when obtaining credit.

Police allege he took out the money between February 14, 2013 and February 28, 2014.

Tilley will be sentenced next month.
