Gunman robs man, 73

A MANHUNT is under way to track down a gun-wielding robber, who pressed a semiautomatic handgun to the head of an elderly man before stealing his wallet.

A 73-year-old was sitting in his car on The Esplanade in Coombabah about 4.20am yesterday, when another car pulled up in front of him.

A man then exited and walked to the driver-side window, pulled out a handgun and demanded the elderly man hand over his wallet.

The man initially refused, it’s then believed the offender has pressed the gun against his head, reached through the window and grabbed his jacket.

Detectives are searching for a man, believed to be in his 20s, who was wearing a black hooded jumper at the time.
