Medina joins Bali casualties

DEFENDING world champion Gabriel Medina has been eliminated from the World Surf League event in Bali.

The Brazilian became the latest big name to fall at Keramas yesterday when the round of 32 resumed, defeated by Italy’s Leonardo Fioravanti.

Medina could only post a twowave total of 11 out of 20 to fall by 1.73 points. Australia’s Julian Wilson safely reached the last 16 on Sunday and will surf off for a spot in the quarter-finals later on Monday.
