Hawks injuries mount

-

HAWTHORN lead ruckman Ben McEvoy is among several key Hawks in doubt for the Round 10 clash with Port Adelaide in Launceston after suffering an ankle injury in the loss to Richmond.

The in-form tall became the latest in a string of casualties for Hawthorn when his right ankle got caught underneath him in a tackle in the first quarter of Sunday’s 14.11 (95) to 8.11 (59) loss at the MCG.

Star defender James Frawley was a late withdrawal with hamstring soreness, with young forward Mitchell Lewis suffering concussion in the third quarter. They join Isaac Smith (foot) and Chad Wingard (hamstring) on the injury list.

“It’s never great when they’ve tried to treat him and give (the ankle) the support it needed and he’s unable to play in the second half,” coach Alastair Clarkson said of McEvoy.
