Retail guru joins Myer

-

MYER has appointed Jacquie Naylor (pictured) as a nonexecutive director as it boosts the amount of retail experience on its board following constant criticism from major shareholder Solomon Lew.

Myer chairman Garry Hounsell said Ms Naylor has a record of improving financial performance and strategy through her experience as a director at the Just Jeans Group, which includes the Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Portmans, Jacquie E and Dotti brands.

“With over 30 years of retail experience, Jacquie brings a wealth of knowledge of both women’s and men’s apparel, homewares and outdoor brands,” Mr Hounsell said.

Ms Naylor has also held non-executive director roles at Cambridge Clothing, Husk, Macpac and The PAS Group, which carries the likes of Review and Yarra Trail.

Billionaire investor Mr Lew, who is Myer’s largest shareholder, has consistently criticised the department store over the board’s lack of retail experience since taking a 10.77 per cent stake in 2017.
