FISHING

- Report by Mark Berg’s Tackle World.

BEACHES: Southern beaches have been great for bream, whiting and flathead. Plenty of whiting being caught in the surf gutters at Broadbeach.

OFFSHORE: Still been quiet offshore. If you head out, try the 24 fathoms for snapper, Spanish mackerel on the in-close reefs and dolphinfish at the Tweed FAD.

TWEED RIVER: The exposed banks have been good for bream, whiting and flathead. Stay in close to the bridge pylons and you’re a chance of picking up trevally.

BROADWATER: Land’s End, Sea World and Runaway Bay have been fishing well for flounder, tusk fish, flathead and winter whiting.
