SYDNEYSIDER SWOOPS IN HEAVY-DUTY DEAL
Southern businessman impressed by high ceilings, corporate presentation and power supply in sought-after Meadowbrook estate
A VACANT industrial building in the Brisbane-Gold Coast growth corridor has changed hands amid a resurgence in demand for heavy-use manufacturing facilities.
The large freestanding tilt panel office/warehouse at Meadowbrook sold for $5.4 million plus GST, snapped up by a Sydney-based owner of multiple businesses.
Jaems Balfour from Ray White Industrial, who negotiated the sale, said the property at 1-15 Beal St was sold vacant possession and the buyer intended to occupy the space with his Brisbane-based manufacturing/engineering business.
“We’re seeing a resurgence in requirements for heavy-use manufacturing facilities with good power and crane capabilities, as most of the newer developments are more targeted towards logistic businesses,” Mr Balfour said.
The Meadowbrook facility comprises a building area of 3836sq m on a 6743sq m corner allotment.
“I’d been in contact with the owners regarding an expiring lease and managed to introduce a Sydney business owner who owns multiple businesses across the country,” Mr Balfour said.
“The buyer was attracted to the high ceilings, the corporate presentation and large power supply the property provides.
“They intend to install a crane and retrofit the site to suit the expansion plans they have for their business.
“Meadowbrook is a highly sought-after corporate estate comprised of predominantly tilt-panel facilities, right on the Logan Motorway.”
