Upgrade for bypass
MORE than $6.3 million will be spent on upgrades to the Gold Coast’s waterways.
The money to the Gold Coast Waterways Authority will be used to revamp existing infrastructure.
About $4.3 million will be used to upgrade the Gold Coast Seaway sand bypass system through the completion of the jetty’s deck as well as improvements to the electrical switching gear, while $1.8 million will go on dredging navigation channels to improve accessibility. A further $220,000 will go to upgrading boat ramps and pontoons.
