Ned Kelly art on the block

THE largest offering of acclaimed Australian artist Sidney Nolan’s iconic Ned Kelly pictures will go to auction this month.

The sale of 120 works by Nolan includes more than 30 Ned Kelly pictures on paper from the 1950s and 1960s, the peak of the artist’s international fame, as well as four paintings from his 1964 Antarctic series.

The works from the estate of the artist’s widow Lady Mary Nolan will be auctioned by Bonhams Australia in Sydney on June 26, along with other art.
