CITY’S CULTURE AT HEART OF FUTURE SUCCESS

-

Brought to you by the City of Gold Coast DELIVERY of the City’s Culture Strategy and a worldclass cultural precinct at Home of the Arts (HOTA) is a purposeful and ambitious endeavour.

While strategic and serious, to be successful it must be fun, true to our roots and quintessentially Gold Coast.

We are creating vibrant spaces for locals to reflect and reshape our identity.. Creative cities are smart and productive. They encourage forward thinking, curiosity and critical debate.

The centrepiece of our Culture Strategy is HOTA, a precinct that is giving our city’s spirit a place to live and thrive. Cultural tourism is experiencing

enormous growth, so it’s vital the Gold Coast is able to tap into this growing market, while also creating a cultural environment to be embraced and enjoyed by locals and new arrivals.

The HOTA gallery, to open in 2021, will showcase local artists and touring exhibitions and be a platform for people of all ages to engage with art and each other.

Of course, across the city,

our arts and cultural events are enhancing our enviable lifestyle. Events such as the Bleach Festival, Swell, Blues on Broadbeach and numerous others provide an economic benefit, but more importantly, they embrace our environment and wonderful climate, and provide a platform for us to express who we are. Our Music Action Plan ensures we recognise musicians as valuable

contributors to the city’s growing cultural reputation and economy, and provide the support and investment needed to build capacity within the local music community. This plan provides a blueprint that will positively impact the music sector on the Coast. We are a city where creativity creates opportunity and we are a city that stirs “Our Culture. Our Soul. Our Pride”.
