PETROL THEFT – MOLENDINAR

THIS man and woman allegedly put petrol in a stolen car at a Molendinar service station and drove off without paying. The pair entered the Ashmore Rd station in a white 2002 Toyota Hiace van, bearing Queensland registrati­on plates 406 GMU, about 10.40pm on Wednesday October 30. The woman put approximat­ely $64 worth of unleaded fuel in the car, got back in the passenger’s seat and the couple drove off. The vehicle was stolen between 10pm on Tuesday, October 29 and 4.30am on Wednesday, October 30 during a burglary at Nobby Parade, Miami.

POLICE believe these two men may have informatio­n about mail that was stolen from a Southport unit complex last month.

About noon on Tuesday, November 19, two men attended the mail boxes on Rose St and allegedly used a set of universal keys to access a number of mailboxes and steal the contents.

A WOMAN pushing a pram allegedly tried to “cash in” by stealing a $15 toy register from a Varsity Lakes chemist. The alleged theft happened about 3.25pm on Sunday, November 24.

The woman is also accused of taking 120 magnesium capsules, valued at $53, 60 liver detox capsules, valued at $28, and 250 grams of Manuka honey, valued at $170, and putting them in the bottom of her pram. The woman attended the front counter of the chemist on Christine Ave where she purchased a snack bar. After paying for the snack bar and moving towards the exit, the woman allegedly picked up a fragrance at the next counter, before attempting to leave the store. A staff member approached the woman about the fragrance. The woman gave it back, then selected another toy and paid for it.
