Mustang raffle drives funding to charity

- EMILY TOXWARD

A NEWLY formed Gold Coast social enterprise is raffling off a Ford Mustang worth nearly $80,000 to raise money for the National Homeless Collective.

Raise For Good, the brainchild of local business women Gina Gimenez and Aimee Tilton, aims to take the pressure of fundraising off charities.

“After seeing and experiencing personal devastation in 2020, we have shifted gear, using our skills and knowledge to raise valuable funds for charities dealing in health, homelessness and poverty,” Ms Tilton said.

“We could see that a number of charities were trying to do great work within those fields but were struggling to raise the funds.

“Gina and I have always worked in sales and marketing and thought we could take these skills and assist charities in that side of their operation and take away the stress of fundraising so they can just focus on helping people.

“All profits from the ticket sales go to the charity.”

Ms Gimenez said raffle tickets were $10 each, and with a maximum of 40,000 tickets up for grabs, the odds were pretty good compared with lottery draws.

There are also 10 runnerup prizes of a $500 Coles/ Myer gift voucher.

The 2020 Mustang Fastback V8 is on display at The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre this week.

Tickets can also be bought online at raiseforgood.org.

The raffle closes on January 31, with the winner drawn at Sunshine Ford in Southport on February 3, unless sold out earlier.
