TWEED COAST RECORD
THE sale of a luxury beachfront home on Kingscliff’s millionaire’s row could see house prices smash $4m along the hot Tweed Coast strip for the first time.
An architect-designed four-bedroom home at 29 Cylinders Dve is on the market with a price tag of $4.25m. Once achieved, it will set a record for the booming northern NSW seaside town.
House prices along Kingscliff’s most exclusive stretch have been nudging the $4m mark since last year. The record of $3.96m for a new four-bedroom home sold at 13 Daybreak Blvd was hit on January 20 this year.
In October, a five-bedroom home designed by Jayson Pate at 71 Cylinders Dve on 1012sq m fetched $3.91m; while a six-bedroom house at 23 Cylinders Drive sold for $3.895m in June, eclipsing the $3.75m achieved in May for the sale of No.9.
Marketing agent Nick Witheriff, of LJ Hooker Kingscliff, said a number of offers had been received for 29 Cylinders Dve, which is set
on 765sq m in sought-after Salt Village and offered direct beach access via a laneway from the back gate.
The home was built in 2013 to a commercial standard from solid concrete. It has a pool, rooftop garden and
private north-facing yard.
Designed by Maurice Verna of TVS Architects, it combines contemporary architecture with natural textures of stone and 3.5m high acoustic timber ceilings, all built to withstand the
elements of its coveted coastal location. Owner Emile Young said the family moved south from Burleigh Heads for a more relaxed pace of life with their two daughters.
LJ Hooker’s Carol Witheriff said Cylinders Dve had
surpassed North Point Ave as the most coveted address, due to its newer luxury homes, larger blocks with wide beach frontage, and proximity to the town centre.
Mrs Witheriff said high demand from sea changers
was the biggest driver for local prestige property. “We are seeing buyers from Sydney and Melbourne seeking our quality of life,” she said.
“There are also a lot of buyers from Byron, because Byron has become so busy.”
