Veteran switches agency
INDUSTRY veteran Dax Roep has left Ray White Special Projects and joined forces with Harcourts Coastal Commercial.
Mr Roep, a registered valuer, said he made the decision to part ways with Ray White, where he specialised in marketing development sites, after deciding to seek a new challenge following three years with the agency.
“I was appreciative of the support provided by Ray White, I look up to the business as a brand,” he said.
“It was a collegial environment and we finished on amicable terms (but) it was time for a new challenge and I was looking to extend into marketing a variety of assets rather than just development sites.”
Mr Roep described Harcourts Commercial Coastal as the “perfect blend” of a new team led by directors Jared Johnson and Lachlan Marshall backed by a residential agency going from “strength to strength”.
Mr Roep has spent 25 years in the real estate industry and previously worked at LandMark White (now Acumentis) and Herron Todd White as a valuer.
His key sales included the $11 million-plus recordbreaking deal with colleagues Matthew Fritzsche and Michael Willems for Jock McIlwain’s former estate in Mermaid Waters.
Mr Roep said the market was dominated by a lack of supply, particularly for development sites.
“The market is very buoyant,” he said.
“(Getting stock) is the hard
part and that will be the push going forward.”
Mr Roep said a lack of developable land was an issue but there were signs of more transactions in the sector, particularly
in Surfers Paradise.
Harcourts Coastal managing director Dane Atherton said Mr Roep was selected to join Harcourts as “one of southeast Queensland’s most
well-known residential apartment mixed-use site agents”.
Mr Johnson said Mr Roep was the “ideal candidate”.
“I am incredibly excited to
subdivision, and
watch Dax leverage off the strength of our existing operation and make a massive impact in his marketplace flying the Harcourts Coastal Commercial flag.”
