TITANS’ ANZAC TRIBUTE

-

THE Gold Coast Titans will celebrate the centenary of the Royal Australian Air Force with a specially designed jersey for the NRL’s Anzac Round.

The Round 7 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Cbus Super Stadium will see the Titans don the jersey which was designed in conjunction with the RAAF.

The colouring of the jersey aligns with the “Air Superiority Grey” used by RAAF aircraft, with the camouflage pattern also giving a subtle nod to military attire.

The jersey features the RAAF’s newest F-35 fighter jet with a dramatic exhaust plume on the front and back, the same jet that takes centre stage in the RAAF centenary logo.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell said it was great to be able to acknowledge the contribution and service that many men and women have given through the RAAF.

“The NRL’s Anzac round is such an important piece in our calendar as we commemorate the contribution that all in the armed services have given our country,” Mitchell said.

“Being able to join with the RAAF for our game against Souths to help tell the centenary story is something that we’re really proud to do.

“The RAAF centenary tagline of ‘Then. Now. Always.’ features on the collar of our jersey, and is a reminder of how important the Air Force has been to Australians.”

Titans fullback AJ Brimson gave the jersey a huge tick of approval.

“I think it’s sick. They look mad actually. They’re not over the top. It’s a good touch,” Brimson said.

“It’s definitely inspirational. It’s always good to have ANZAC round and all the lead-up to it with the jerseys and anthem.

“It’s always an extra special round. It’s good to show our appreciation towards the ADF.”

Titans teammate David Fifita also loved the jersey design.

“I love how it’s designed. If I get the opportunity I’ll give it to my nan or my mum,” Fifita said.
