Budget honesty should include a requirement to only include and announce amounts budgeted to be spent in the year of the budget. Announcing $10bn will be spent over 10 years sounds so much grander that $1bn per year.
If residents of Springbrook think the world heritage-listed national park should be off limits, what are they doing living there? Concerning the GCB article re: the opposition to a proposal to build the cableway to Springbrook. This is an incredible idea and will be good for both tourist and locals.
The footprint of the towers will be minimal but the scenery will be amazing. Stop listening to the minority and build it. I can’t wait to take a trip on it. On a lighter note, went to see the amazing Tina Arena concert on Saturday night. What a sensational singer/entertainer she is. Get behind the Aussie artists everyone. The construction of the $4m jetty on Marine Stadium (GCB, 10/5) – there needs to be far more planning. The water at the stadium is heavily polluted by the toilets of the anchored yachts so swimming from the jetty would not be recommended. Fishing also not a good idea.
Boaties will tie up for hours blocking the access and yachties will tie up for weeks. Legislation will be need to prohibit long term mooring and the water will need flushing out. Laza Very impressed by the service at RACQ.

Some were around 12-13 years old while one looked about 10. Both boys and girls and I’m told the police are powerless to stop them because apparently chroming is not against the law.
