THE FACEBOOK BIG QUESTION

R. Nightingale. “Australia Post couriers seem to be able to follow the laws”. I have been to a post office on the southern end of coast where the postal van (Australia Post) had parked in the disabled parking only, on FOUR separate occasions. Pointing this out each time and told by post office, it is easier for courier to do his job if parked there. So no respect whatsoever from Australia Post either. Disabled Driver.

Whatever happened to the subject of heavy rail? Does anybody know? Is it dead?

What a load of garbage that there’s not enough skilled workers in Australia. Look at the blokes who’ve lost their jobs in the car industry not too long ago and plenty more who’ve lost their jobs thru COVID. No, this is just a wind up to get new overseas workers in and pay them peanuts. Oldest trick in the book.

Thanks Viv, that made my day more cheerful. IMac

Hey Viv, over $1bn to build 6.7km of light rail. That’s an expensive way to find a boyfriend. Personally, I would rather see $1bn spent on many kilometres of M1 or the like. Doesn’t anyone else think this must be the most expensive way to move people 6.7km? About time we reopened the tender process to all comers to get a fair price. JK

Excellent move for Port Adelaide players to change into their prisonbar guernsey to celebrate their win. So the AFL Commission and Eddie McGuire didn’t like it. Up yours Eddie! KB, Tweed

Get over yourself McGuire, you are NOT the AFL Board of Directors. The Power players were in their changerooms when wearing the “prison bars”. I may not like or follow Port Power, but but respect and admire their determination. Ole Cynical Bugger.

In response to ‘Fan F’ in yesterday’s messages. It’s a 2-way street, the players respect the ref and each player is identified during the match by number and not first names. Also, only the captain can approach the ref. The NRL can certainly learn from the rugby refs.

Hey Chatroom people, here’s a thought, China buys our iron ore at a certain price then sells it back to us as wind farms, solar panels and crap cars at twice the price and uses questionable labour in doing so. About time Australia woke up, what do you think? EZY E

Hayne supporter gets fined $500 for spitting as unlawful behaviour yet time and time again we see sports people spitting on the footy field, golf course, basketball court who are so-called role models. So why not make an example of them as well? ... oh sorry money talks. Doug

Fantastic news that government on both sides have pitched in to get the light rail on track again. Yes!

If Holgate does to TOLL what she did to OZ Post I’m buying shares. Johnbrew

Bouquet for GCCC. Our council keeps our basic amenities tip top, clean footpaths, parks mowed, library, aquatic centres safe, terriffic place to live. Brenjon

Funny Chook & Dick can’t figure why Canberra not being too generous in budget handouts to them & their union mates. Hard to understand after their deputy’s C-word filth toward PM!

While I agree some of the stranded people in India deserve to be brought home, I also believe that anyone who has been out of the country for an extended period of time, and some reports say up to 10 years, then they have no right to call themselves Australians. Peter

Another horrid accident at Oxley Dve and Hansford Rd, Coombabah. Pretty simple fix. NO RIGHT turn after green arrow gone. In the southbound right turn lane into Hansford Rd there’s no clear vision if someone is still in the opposing U-turn lane heading north. Will it take a death to make a fix? Oshy

Big Brother! Even the promos are a scripted load of crap.

The army has more than enough to do without doing the job of the courts as well.

In recent days, the Bulletin revealed a consultant gave the council the green light to back a multi-million dollar cableway in the hinterland in a prefeasibility report. Do you support the Gold Coast cableway project? Why or why not?

Kay Schiefelbein

No! So little remains of our world heritage rainforest and it is highly sensitive and vulnerable and this would be disastrous!

Mike Goldman

Yes! This needs to happen. Great for tourism and our country. Mad if we don’t have this.

Steve Kondra

Devils always in the detail! Have used Cableway outside Cairns, and loved it. I see 3 potential solutions for the future, as we continue to grow as a tourist destination. 1) Lock it away as some Greenies want. refer-: Mt Warning. 2) Build a never ending network of trails and paths (must accommodate wheelchairs of course) 3) Cableway, if done with care and attention for the environment. Until a jetpack (birds and wildlife will hate) are more freely available, I’m open to alternatives. BTW, I don’t live in the Hinterland.

Elaine Hil

I think it’s lovely and it gets cars and buses off the dangerous road getting up there. The cairns one is a beautiful example.

Janine Kroehn

No. Leave what is beautiful and natural alone. Why do we have to destroy everything just for the mighty dollar.
