New faces in Coast’s best

-

AFTER a tight weekend of football around the Premier League in Round 7 action, the Team of the Week features a number of new faces after their starring performances. Burleigh trio Kristian Rees, Beckham Casey and Nikki Felizatto earned their spots after their hard-fought 1-0 victory against Kingscliff on Sunday. Broadbeach captain Justin Watmough continued his great run of form in 2021, snagging another spot in the team alongside teammates Jacob Sjorup and Alex Boyce.

A fantastic display in goals by Casey Went from Runaway Bay kept his side in the match for the duration of the game and earned him a spot in the team.

Dean Wernerson, Harry Liebke and Reece Hills rounded out the 11 with their performances on route to victory for their respective clubs. Capping off the weekend was a stellar second half performance from Morgan Saunders resulting in the forward earning the Player of the Week award for his fourgoal haul against Robina City.

With individual awards now entering the crunch time of the season, all eyes will be on the next few weeks as we round out the first lot of games. Team of the Week:
