Hot Tomato in tune with Coast listeners

GOLD Coast owned and operated radio station 102.9 Hot Tomato has triumphed at the GfK first radio survey in two years.

The Gold Coast and Tweed survey found 204,000 listeners tuned into the station each week.

Galey, Emily Jade & Christo continues to be the most listened to breakfast show for the Gold Coast, with 118,000 listeners and 34,000 more listeners than any other station.

Moyra & Baggs was the top choice for Gold Coasters to listen to on their drive home, with 123,000 listeners.

The station’s new local nights show with Gold Coast favourite Big Kahuna also nabbed a number one ranking, with 41,000 listeners tuning in each week.

Southern Cross Austereo also celebrated some wins in the survey, with its HIT 90.9 breakfast and drive shows each ranked first in the 18-39 year category, and HIT’s breakfast also topping the under-40s sector.

The network said 219,000 listeners tuned in to its two local stations each week.

Meanwhile, goldcoastb­ulletin.com.au easily remains the city’s most read local news website and is on track to increase subscriber page views on its local content by more than 20 per cent this financial year.

The website’s Gold Coast content has clocked 13.6 million views from paid subscriber­s in the financial year to date, up from 11.2 million at the same time last year.

That equates to 296,000 subscriber page views a week for the local content.
