GOLD Coast’s 80,000 volunteers will be among those recognised during National Volunteer Week next week.

In a year that saw communitie­s tested to their limits, volunteers displayed their commitment to help their towns recover and flourish.

As part of the celebratio­ns, The Queensland Volunteeri­ng Awards will be held in Brisbane next Friday. More than 200 nomination­s were received statewide across six categories.

Volunteers will be presented the: Volunteer of the Year Award; Youth Volunteeri­ng Award; Lifetime Contributi­on to Volunteeri­ng Award; Excellence in Volunteer Management Award; Volunteeri­ng Impact Award; and Corporate Volunteeri­ng Award.
