Rich lister sees value

- ALISTER THOMSON

QUEENSLAND rich lister Xiao (Jane) Darveniza has added to her industrial property portfolio – spending $23m on an industrial property in Ormeau.

Ms Darveniza bought the 2800sqm facility at 2 Notar Dve, home to supply chain provider FCN and Caltex South Yatala Diesel Stop, through her company Acanthus Properties Pty Ltd in March.

Mrs Darveniza inherited her fortune from her late husband Bojan Darveniza with whom she amassed one of Brisbane’s most valuable property empires.

Mr Darveniza died in 2010, aged 78, leaving behind Mrs Darveniza, who was 30 years younger than him.

After he died, his four children from previous relationships contested the will in the Supreme Court when they were left with nothing.

They received a combined $11.75m through settlements and court orders with the bulk of the estate being added to Mrs Darveniza’s assets.

Mrs Darveniza has steadily added to her property assets in recent years. In 2017, she made her first foray into the retail sector.

The seller of the 3.87ha Notar Dve property was Panak Pty Ltd, linked to developer Rodney Peachey.
