AFL guns claim Rugby 7s crown

-

THE Levi sisters are national champions – now they want to take on the world.

Maddison, 19, and Teagan, 17, starred as Bond University claimed a historic AON Women’s Uni7s title in front of the Fabian Fay Clubhouse on Sunday.

Teagan was named player of the tournament, while Maddison was also named in the Dream Team by Australian 7s coach John Manenti.

“This is my first year of AONs and to get picked in the All Stars team is amazing,” Maddison said.

“Without my teammates, it wouldn’t happen.

“To be put in that Dream Team with my sister just tops it off.

“We grew up in the backyard and we have such a good competitive nature, we push and strive together.

“She was player of the series and much.

“Our parents are very proud. To play with your teammates is one thing but to play with your own blood and sister by your side is an insane feeling.”

The Levi sisters carved up the competition, scoring crucial long-range tries, showcasing incredible speed and power to secure Bond’s first national title.

The talented multi-sport athletes are dreaming even bigger.

Both play Aussie rules with Bond University, with Maddison already representing the she deserves it so

Gold Coast Suns in the AFLW and hoping her little sister can join her next season.

The ultimate dream though would be to play rugby 7s together for Australia at the next Olympics.

“An Aussie 7s contract would be nice,” Maddison said.

“The dream is to play for Australia with my sister.

“Putting on that Aussie jersey together would be the ideal scenario.

“To play well in front of the Australia coach is really exciting.

“I guess we are representing the Levi brand really well.”
