10. BEN IKIN

THE Coast junior and onetime Seagull beat out the likes of Jai Arrow and David Fifita.

Ikin played only one series during his time on the Coast – at 18 years and 83 days in 1995 when he became the youngest Origin player in history.

9. SCOTT PRINCE

PRINCE played his first Origin series in 2004 while at the Tigers and did not make the Queensland team again until 2008 when he played two games for the injured Lockyer.

8. DALE SHEARER

SHEARER played 26 games between 1984 and 1996.

A member of the Indigenous team of the century, Shearer only played three years of his 15-season career on the Gold Coast, notching 33 games for the Seagulls between 1992-94.

7. ANTHONY LAFFRANCHI

HIS Origin stint was short and sweet but during his fourgame reign, Laffranchi was one of the form NRL forwards.

He finally got his chance in 2008 on the back of outstanding form for the Titans.

6. LUKE BAILEY

BAILEY made his debut for the Blues in 2002.

Of his 15 appearances for NSW, though, only four came during Bailey’s time on the Gold Coast, where he was a foundation Titans player.

5. ASHLEY HARRISON

WHILE he made his Origin debut in 2005 while at Souths, Harrison won a recall at the Titans in 2008 and played 14 more games until 2013.

4. BOB LINDNER

HIS selection will be controversial given he played one season on the Coast. The backrower, who played 25 Origins, lined up in just 10 games for the Seagulls in 1989 before moving on to Magpies in 1990.

3. GREG BIRD

BIRD may have made his Blues debut in 2007 at Cronulla but it was while at the Titans that he made his Origin mark.

A fixture in Blues sides, Bird was as uncompromising as they come and a man Maroons fans loved to hate.

2. NATE MYLES

MYLES started his Origin career in 2006. From that point he was an integral part of Queensland’s decade of dominance, playing 32 games.

Most of them came during the forward’s time at the Titans, who he joined in 2012.

1. WALLY LEWIS

WHILE “The King” played just one season on the Gold Coast during his Maroons career, he was near the peak of his powers in the 1991 series.

Lewis learnt on the day of his final game that his daughter Jamie-Lee had been born profoundly deaf and retired.
