To all today’s youths who commit crimes and believe the world owes them and feel hard done by I suggest you watch the Paralympics and see what can be achieved by those a lot worse off than yourselves... pull your head out of your bum and start becoming a better person for yourself your family your community and the generation behind you. Doug

Ron R/Bay I have actually seen inspectors on buses lately but only on Sundays so I guess they are on penalty rates. Your 50% ride free is also very generous as I travel lots and I reckon 75% would be somewhere around the mark. Geoffrey.

Nurse steals sick people’s credit cards yet only banned for 5 years. He should be banned for life

Cough, cough, cough. Not covid! Just long-time smoker’s cough! Don’t ever try smoking young folk.

Biden continually proves how incompetent he is but sadly people are paying with their lives in Afghanistan, why can’t a lot of the press see this or are they blinded by their leftist ideas. Rocket

Keep telling it like it is Ann Wason Moore. Love it, you must be upsetting the Bolt, Jones, Credlin cheer squad.

We live in strange times. The sharemarket, once described as “The world’s biggest casino”, defies all logic. A company loses over $85 million and its shares jump 25%. The only redeeming feature is the company’s losses were less than in the previous year. A sound company that has always returned excellent profits for its shareholders records another rise in profits and its shares fall a few cents. Wrong. We will not need a vax certificate to go anywhere other than

Twiddling thumbs in lockdown here in Tweed, looking for something else to pass the long hours, so tried making bread. Reminded me of happy times making mud pies as a 5 year old. Then, it was Mum who had to clean us up & provide edible dinner. Now it’s up to me to clean up after myself. What a huge mess to clean up! $2 loaf made by experts will do me, thankyou very much! Hmmm, what to do next to fill in time? maybe overseas. Local restaurants, clubs, bars, all businesses will be dragging us through their doors, vaccinated or not, to get us to spend our dollars with them. Lockdowns have near destroyed many companies. Plus we cannot discriminate vax haves and have nots! LS

I noticed a number of letters and SMS regarding the writings of Comrade Ann Watson Moore in regards to Trump. Comrade AWM in regards to Biden please explain that journalism is to write without fear of favour propaganda. Writing is a whole different craft. Mr MF

Mann maintaining the brilliance. Gold standard. Rembrandt

So if the NSW-Qld borders are moved south of Tweed what happens if that new area gets a Covid issue and causes an immediate lockdown? Where to then? Does the border get moved back to the original line? Doug

What proof is there that an alleged ISIS K planner for the Kabul bombings has been killed as against the victim just being collateral damage and deemed as the planner to improve the USA image of actually taking revenge action. Worthy of thought. D

Yep, that’s right Qld Premier, NSW has borne most of the cost of dealing with returning Aussies during this crisis! Time for you to pay your bill.

Why move the QLD border or check point to the Tweed River? It’s only going to shift the chaos slightly to the south. The Tweed Shire is equally interconnected as Tweed/Cooly. True madness from power tripping premiers. Macca

Why is the Tweed River now being considered as the new ‘covid border’. This would effectively cut the Tweed in half, stopping people on the southern side of the river from accessing shops and services in the Tweed’s biggest retail and industrial centre. Surely any movement of an arbitrary border south would have to include all of the Tweed shire. Let’s not follow the first mistake with another! Bin

The Bulletin has unmasked the villain in the un-movable border which would allow the creation of a Covid bubble... none other that the NSW Premier. I’m expecting those including Mann, who kept up the constant stream of outrage and insults aimed at the Qld Premier, to admit they were wrong, that they had been led by the nose by the “loud” minority and fill this page with apologies. Not holding my breath. Dave Burleigh Heads.

To the bike riders who ride at high speed in packs on Hedges Avenue why don’t you obey the traffic rules and stop at pedestrian crossings? You want to ride on the road and take up car space so act like cars and stop when you should. Michelle Parker

Now I’ve heard it all. The powers to be, want your car manufacturer to guarantee that your door locks and power windows will still work for 10 minutes after you submerge your car under water. Cars go on the roads, boats go in water. If you can’t remember that, you are not suitable to have a driver’s license. Maybe, you’re not suitable, full stop. The Mad Rooster

I’m sure that all those leftist, brainwashed Democrats in the USA congratulate themselves after latest disaster in Afghanistan for electing President Biden. A propped up puppet representing delusional minority in America – and by doing this – delivering a great gift to China and Russia. S

So I am booked to go to Tasmania in October where there are no COVID cases. I live in Tweed where there has never been any COVID cases. I cannot fly there because Tweed is being penalised because of being in the same state as Sydney, albeit many miles away from Sydney. Can someone please either explain this madness or stop this madness? How is this even Australia that we are living in? I have lost all faith in every politician, forever.

I would like to see every opposition leader who criticise the present government to come up with an alternative response. Be it state or federal, let us have our 2 cents in here. Up to you. IMac.

Please tell me why our leaders are not using the instant Covid test (developed in Australia) on truck drivers so they can get on with their job – or is that too logical? Waf

Good to see the Eels have shown the blueprint on how to beat the Storm. You’re welcome Panthers. Guru

When I was at school, kids would shout, “pinch, punch, first of the month and no returns”. Then they’d launch an assault, and the pinched and punched were prohibited from retaliating. It seems childish, until we remember that international treaties detail ways in which nations are, and aren’t, allowed to attack one another. If only we spent as much effort pursuing peaceful pastimes. As Mars moves towards an opposition with Neptune, that’s what we should do in our own lives.

ARIES MAR 21 – APR 20

We all know the first rule of gambling: never risk more than you can afford to lose. The second, is to spread your bets. The third, is not to listen to anyone who claims to know the rules – since they’re fooling themselves, you’d be foolish to heed their advice. As your ruler moves towards an opposition with illusive Neptune, it would be wise to play it safe today. Keep your options open and cover your bases. Just because you can sense progress, doesn’t mean it’s time to take risks. You’ll know when to make your move.

LEO JUL 24 – AUG 23

You have so many issues demanding your attention, that it’s hard to know what to focus on. It would be simpler if something was so intense that you couldn’t afford to let your mind wander. Yet the problem is you’ve got so many plates to spin that some of them are bound to drop. That’s OK. You’re being looked after by a kindly sky. As your ruler, the Sun, links to Pluto, it brings a glimpse of bright light shining at the end of the tunnel. As long as you do your best, it’s good enough. You’re closer to the end of a difficult time than you think. For free audio and video forecasts, visit ozfree.cainer.com.

SAGITTARIUS NOV 23 – DEC 21

Who does the world belong to? If, as some people say, it belongs to you and me, then where are our certificates of ownership? Plus, if it really is ours, why aren’t we in positions where we can implement the changes we want to see? Yet maybe you are that powerful. Maybe all you have to do is trust that you have power, act as if you have power, and think as if you have power. You have a choice today: you can picture a situation as being difficult, or you can picture a solution. Whichever you choose, you can make it real. It’s up to you. TAURUS APR 21 – MAY 21

How does it feel to be in the right? Don’t look around for someone to ask, I’m talking to you. After all, you’re adept at hitting the nail on the head with near-stunning accuracy. A more accurate question would be to ask you how it feels to be vindicated. That (unfortunately) is a less frequent occurrence. Even when your contribution has been essential, people don’t always recognise the significance of your input. Yet, someone has noticed your problem-solving skills and is about to repay in kind. Here comes the help you need.

VIRGO AUG 24 – SEP 23

Much rests on the amount of faith you have in yourself. Perhaps that seems a silly thing to say, after all, when would that not be the case? But it seems someone has got under your skin and damaged your confidence in your own abilities. Who would do such a thing? To answer that, you’re going to have to look uncomfortably close to home. It’s time to stop putting yourself down over inconsequential issues. A boost of confidence enables you to override your inner critic today. You have everything you need to succeed.

CAPRICORN DEC 22 – JAN 20

If we always hurt the ones we love, no wonder we’re told to love our enemies. Yet, if we managed to do that, since we’d be incapable of harming the people we didn’t like, it would make sense to try to dislike the people we love; then we wouldn’t be able to hurt them. If you’re already confused about how you feel about someone, you might find the logic of that argument difficult to follow (let alone implement). Yet, rather than pulling away from an intense situation, give yourself some space, and you’ll respond with care.

GEMINI MAY 22 – JUN 22

You might be surprised to hear that not only are positive things occurring, they’re going to keep occurring. After all, things don’t seem particularly positive right now; there are certainly areas of your life that could do with improving. Yet sometimes a change of perspective can alter our perception, and it’s unlikely that the success you desire will be achieved in the way you envision. If you’re committed to making a change, you can make it happen. The obstacles in your path are nowhere near as solid as they may seem. Stay positive.

LIBRA SEP 24 – OCT 23

Some people believe that if someone looks smart, they should be respected. That their testimony is to be believed. Although this notion isn’t as prevalent as it was, it’s still widely upheld. Yet, if someone wants to mislead and manipulate, there’s nothing to stop them from dressing in a way that gives an impression of honesty. You’re smart enough not to be taken in by appearances. You won’t have to dig far beneath the surface in order to uncover the key to what’s really going on today. You can set someone on a better path.

AQUARIUS JAN 21 – FEB 19

We don’t always know where we’re heading. The trouble is that we usually think we know. We have an idea, we formulate a plan, choose a direction and, when we reach a destination that appears to match our objective, we feel as if we’ve succeeded. Yet the best journeys always involve elements of surprise. Even if these aren’t of our choosing, they make us stop, look around, and wonder, which makes us re-evaluate and broaden our horizons. If you find yourself dealing with the unexpected today, enjoy the insight it brings.

CANCER JUN 23 – JUL 23

Do you sometimes get tired of being told how sensitive you are? Knowing that you’re selfless, and put everyone else’s needs before your own must sometimes wear you down. After all, no one’s capable of perfection. You’re a healthy human; there’s no point martyring yourself and rendering yourself miserable – what use would you be to anyone if that were the case? If you’ve had enough of playing the Cinderella role, the coming Mars/Neptune link breaks the spell that’s been holding you back. It’s time for the recognition you deserve.

SCORPIO OCT 24 – NOV 22

We’re told that if we want to get anywhere in life, we’ve got to be driven and determined. At the same time, we’re meant to encourage and support the people around us, not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because we get back what we put into this world. These are, of course, both true. But there’s a danger that we can work ourselves into the ground, or give so much of ourselves away that we end up feeling exhausted. Today, as the Sun links with your ruling planet, Pluto, you can find the perfect balance between the two extremes.

PISCES FEB 20 – MAR 20

There’s a reason why so many of us watch soap operas – we just love drama. We gasp as we watch the tests and troubles unfold on screen. We feel the heartbreaks and successes, the ups and the downs from the comfort of our sofas. But while this kind of vicarious enjoyment is safe, it’s not so easy to deal with our own dramas. If someone gets under your skin today, resist the urge to bite back. You have the experience and the skills to deflate a tense situation. It might not be dramatic, but it’s absolutely the right thing to do.
