LANGBROEK ON THE GC MAYOR RACE

-

BECAUSE now is the time to start preparing your campaign for the next mayoral race, names keeping popping up. The most regular is Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek. Would the exOpposition leader and probably most affable and well-known bloke in local politics put his hand up if Tom Tate did not embark on a fourth term?

“Tom has said he is going to (run), I still love my day-to-day job. Nothing made me more aware of it having to miss sitting two weeks including the voluntary assisted dying week (new law debate) because I was in Melbourne at my father’s funeral,” he said. “I missed Parliament and the stuff I do whether it’s as a shadow minister or an MP. Tom is the mayor, there’s three years to go, I’m very happy and contented with (Opposition leader) David Crisafulli and the direction he is taking.”
