SWOT’S THAT? BELL RINGS FOR EXAMS

- MELANIE WHITING

GOLD Coast students will sit their major final school exams this week, after a tough two years navigating lockdowns and online learning.

Hailey Silvester said despite the added pressure of Covid concerns lingering throughout the year, she felt prepared for what was to come.

“It’s been hard because we haven’t had all of the classes we would normally have, because of lockdowns,” she said.

Her biggest tip for fellow students was “study earlier, rather than later”.

More than 38,000 Year 12s from about 450 schools across the state will sit an external exam over the next couple of weeks.

The main subjects kick off this week, with the English exam held on Monday.

Aquinas College principal Marcus Richardson wished all students well during this period.

“They’ve been through an extensive mock exam process already,” he said. “We’re just excited to be in the external exam process. Our students are well prepared and hopefully have some great outcomes.”
