TOMSETT TOILS FOR THIRD WIN

-

AN UNBEATEN 82 from opener Kent Tomsett has kept Mudgeeraba Nerang & Districts Colts’ perfect start to the fourth-grade season going.

Tomsett topscored as the hosts raced to 3-153 inside 23 overs, reaching the target set by Surfers Paradise who won the toss and sent themselves in to bat.

Craig Collins’ 64 proved the only real resistance in Surfers’ innings, as the Hayden Taylorled Mudgee attack wrapped up the innings in the 32nd over.

Taylor (3-31) was the pick of an even bowling bunch, with threee others claiming multiple scalps. Elsewhere, Helensvale Pac Pines also stayed perfect with an eight-wicket win over Runaway Bay, while Palm Beach Currumbin, Mudgee Blue, Tamborine Mountain and Broadbeach Robina also recorded victories.
