Record-setting knocks at Burleigh

-

DYNAMIC batting duo Joshua Kelley (96 off 87) and Taika Hoare (90 not out off 57) fired Burleigh Maroon U12s to Coast cricket’s highest innings total of the weekend against club rivals Burleigh Green on Saturday.

Kelley (pictured) combined with Cooper McNee for an opening wicket partnership of 160, also a weekend’s-best, as Burleigh Maroon rolled to 5-400 on Saturday.

Kelley and Hoare both finished in the top 10 runscorers across all grades.

Elsewhere, Runaway Bay Turf Juniors Div 1 player Harry Sullivan’s 6-29 was the equal-highest wicket haul across Coast cricket.

But top kudos must go to Alberton Ormeau U14s gun Benjamin Harm, with ridiculous figures of 5-2 and five maidens off six overs.
