BROADBEACH ROMPS HOME

-

A BRENDON Sheldrick batting masterclass proved ultimately unnecessary as Broadbeach Robina romped to its first win of the sixth grade season.

In his first game of the year Sheldrick blasted eight fours and as many sixes en route to 93 off 46 deliveries as the previously winless Broadbeach Robina rolled to 273 in 35 overs.

Helensvale Green lasted just 18 overs into the run chase, with a top score of six telling the tale.

Les Howard (3-3 off 6 overs) led the charge as Broadbeach Robina rolled its rivals for just 31 runs.

Sheldrick also chimed in with a wicket – the cherry on top of a stellar season debut.

Elsewhere, Runaway Bay and Coomera Hope Island both stayed unbeaten with comprehensive wins against Palm Beach Currumbin and Surfers Paradise respectively.

It was an absolute nailbiter at Brockman Oval, as Mudgeeraba Nerang held on for a four-run win against Alberton Ormeau.
