SILVERTAIL former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, while overseas, has encouraged Australian voters to vote for independents. His reason? According to him, the Liberal Party has moved too far to the right and has lost its way in representing the core values of the party.
Amazing. How out of touch is this man? Ask those Liberal voters who are now indecisive and they will tell you that their concerns are that the party has moved too far to the left.
Further, those deeply unhappy to the centre right and right have either resigned, joined another party, or formed their own party.
Turnbull, the darling of the ABC’s far-left-leaning Q&A has, by his statement, exposed and declared just how far left he really is while implying by his former position that he is still in the tent.
The man should retire from political commentary with some dignity and credibility intact, enjoy his millions and silvertail lifestyle before the word turncoat is forever a prefix to his legacy.

AS a regular attendee of the Temple Shalom (Temple of Peace) and learning of the offensive and frightening occurrence incident via the GC Bulletin of the frightening and cowardly Neo Nazi propaganda attack on a peaceful religious minority, led by a spiritual yet forthright Rabbi Adi Cohen on the Holocaust Remembrance Day, my thoughts immediately turned to my father and as the son of a Holocaust escapee from a fascist regime in the Mediterranean this occurrence became a reality check. Briefly, my father found himself in Palestine and joined the British Palestinian Regiment and fought in a number of theatres of conflicts over the duration of World War II except for some 10 months as a prisoner of war until his escape back to England.
In late 1944, he found out that his younger siblings and parents were incarcerated to Auschwitz and perished in the Holocaust at war’s end.
“Never again,” was his wish as well as the Jewish outcry. But genocides continue to plague humanity sadly and Jews continue to be scapegoats.
Anti-Semitic hatred and lies persist by proliferating their venom nationally and internationally reflecting sick minds that are most likely cultist, gang-related or ideologically driven. In my 13-plus years on the Gold Coast, I’ve never come across such a vile exhibition of hate and propaganda of lies. Hopefully, this recent occurrence is an aberration and we can continue our lives in peace and respect. “Never again.”

OK, here’s the general idea.
If the teal independents do manage to hold the balance of power after May 21, let Albo and ScoMo swap sides every month, to do a spot of governing by each side.
The results will reward Australians for all the rhubarb we have been constantly victim to, and give us something to laugh at. The leadership of both sides can be changed each six months, so as to recharge every federal politicians’ batteries. DAVID HALL, COOMBABAH
